Christmas Album Coming Soon

From time to time, I get an email that kindly encourages me to update more often. It surely is nice to know that there are people who enjoy reading my blog. I got an especially lovely email today so I'm sacrificing my precious Sunday afternoon to write one! Lol. Just kiddinggg.

November 1, 2011. Libera finanlly releases their highly anticipated Christmas Album. I suppose this is like a new trend in the music industry or something because this album will be available in two different versions: original and deluxe. What makes the later deluxe? It contains a Christmas ornament and song cards (see below).

Hmmm. Looks like I'm going to pay $4 more and get a deluxe edition! I'm not too crazy about the silvery ornament but I do want the song cards! Hehehe. Ok, let's take a look at the song list:

1. Joy to the World
2. Still, Still, Still
3. Carol of the Bells
4. Veni, Veni, Emmanuel
5. Once in Royal David's City
6. O Holy Night
7. White Christmas
8. Corpus Christi Carol
9. In Dulci Jubilo
10. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
11. Sing the Story
12. Coventry Carol
13. The First Nowell
14. Jubilate Deo
15. While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks
16. Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel)

I probably never mentioned this on my blog but thanks to EMI, you can download Joy to the World mp3 for free! (click here). It's full of cheerful Christmas spirit so I think they picked a great opening song for the album. I'm really pleased to see Veni, Veni, Emmanuel on the list. It's one of my favorite Christmas songs although I don't understand the Latin words. I just like the melody and I LOVE when tenors sing it. Having said that, I hope this piece is sung by the big boys. That would be really amazing! :)

Seeing Once in Royal David's City on the list surely reminds me of the piece with Aled Jones. This is only like two and a half years ago (maybe three?) but everyone looks so young and little!! What a beautiful opening by Josh, Liam, Ben and Tom. Ohmigosh... I miss their treble days so much! :'(

While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks is another familiar Christmas song by Libera. This is a lovely video where men in black (lol) joins the boys at the end. Aww I miss Tom, Ed, Michael H, James V, Oliver, Thomas, James T and Flynn! I really miss Flynn. I was looking forward to listening to his solos but it seems like he has moved on :'(

I guess Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is same as the one in Peace Deluxe edition. That's fine but I'm slightly confused why Lullabye is on the list. Wouldn't Silent Night (solo by Tom) fit the album better? Oh well, I guess it's another of those not-so-bonus bonus track. Anyway, I can't wait till November 1st! I am so expecting loads of promotional stuff to come out in conjunction with the Philippines tour. EMI, show me your marketing power! :D
